Wilmslow overcome Widnes in lively clash

WIDNES played their part in a lively clash at South Lancashire/Cheshire One leaders Wilmslow.

Kevin Leadbetter crossed twice and landed three conversions and a penalty. There were also Widnes tries for Mark Whitfield and Andy O’Neill, but Wilmslow held too many aces to win well.

A 34-point first-half spree put paid to the visitors, but they kept going well.

Ruskin Park went down 20-10 against visiting Wigan.
