CALDY had to make do with a 25-25 draw and two points after a breathtaking game with Leicester Lions ended in a draw at Paton Field on Saturday.
Despite going behind after only 10 minutes, Caldy fought back valiantly and led for the rest of the game until the final kick, which caused heartbreak for the fans who thought they were going to produce the result of the day.
Caldy went into the game in eighth place in National Three North and as a result of the draw managed to creep above Hull Ionians into seventh.
Caldy, after their early season jitters, seem to have found their level and are producing consistent performances.
But on the flipside, they now find themselves ruing their early missed opportunities in the league programme.
This week they play the return fixture against rivals West Park at Red Rocks.
In the home fixture, a tight game saw Caldy eventually come out 18-13 winners.
