Northwich loose to Broughton Park

HAVING led 14-10 at half-time against Broughton Park, Northwich lost all their earlier discipline to lose 19-14.

The Mancunians’ top goal-kicker Ronan O’Brien landed three successive penalties and it was a heavy blow for Blacks’ coach Paul Reid.

With nine points from 18, the Blacks are back in the relegation mix although they may already have sufficient points to remain outside the bottom two.

They have to visit Stockport on Saturday, then make the short journey to play neighbours Winnington Park in what could prove a key fixture, before hosting Rochdale then winding up away to Leigh.
