Anselmians depend on strong pack against Wirral

THERE are just four league matches remaining for clubs in South Lancashire/ Cheshire One with all the relegation and promotion issues still to be decided.

Anselmians who are fighting to get clear of trouble face a vital derby at home to Wirral tomorrow. They hope to have a stronger pack available but will need to defend well against a Wirral side which has run up more than 170 points in the last two outings.

Wirral give a debut to Sam Capper at scrum-half and there is a first senior appearance of the season on the wing for Adam Stevens.

Lowly Ruskin Park have it all to do at Bowdon and troubled Aspull face an uphill battle against Widnes who could have several regulars returning at Heath Road.

Wigan try to dent the title ambitions of Wilmslow at Douglas Valley with Hoylake due in the Isle of Man to meet Vagabonds and hoping to re-produce the form which shocked Burnage last Saturday.

In Division Two tomorrow, promotion hopefuls Sefton have a tricky game at Ormskirk but should be at full strength. At the other end of the table Oldershaw will need a top performance to match visiting Crewe & Nantwich.

TOMORROW: Div Three: Collegiate v Dukinfield, Oswestry v Southport, Orrell Anvils v Wallasey and Warrington v Ashton on Mersey.

St Edwards must win at Mossley Hill to retain hopes of challenging Division Three leaders Douglas. There are away commitments for Prenton at Newton-le-Willows, Ellesmere Port at Moore and Eagle at Trentham. Parkonians are without a fixture.

TOMORROW: Division Four: Capenhurst v West Park Warriors, Congleton v St Mary’s, Helsby v Port Sunlight, Knutsford v Merseyside Police
