Wigan defeat league leaders

Struggling Ruskin Park were on the wrong side of a 30-14 result at Bowdon.

Ormskirk edged out Sefton 8-7 in a Division Two play-off chasing showdown.

Oldershaw had to settle for a Rob Potter penalty as they failed 3-8 at home to Crewe and Nantwich. Collegiate overcame Dukinfield 11-3 and Southport came away 10-7 to the good from Oswestry.

It was also close at Warrington as the home side lost 23-24 at the hands of Ashton-on-Mersey. Orrell Anvils beat Wallasey 26-16.

St Edward’s, in Division Three, posted a 14-8 victory at Mossley Hill.

Prenton went under 12-15 at Newton-le-Willows.

Ellesmere Port crashed 3-49 at Moore and Eagle lost 7-28 at Trentham.

In Division Four St Mary’s were victorious 36-18 at Congleton with Capenhurst seeing off West Park Warriors 38-19.

Birchfield, in North Lancs One, enjoyed a 29-16 win over Bolton.
