CALDY showed that they have a great deal of self-belief to go with their undoubted talent against West Park.
The Wirral side overcame a serious injury to prop Jim Remfry, as well as a second half deficit, to record yet another win in National Three North.
Caldy’s ability to dig deep and pull a win from a game that seemingly looked lost will stand them in good stead for the remainder of the season.
Remfry suffered a knee injury, which has ended his season prematurely, in the 23-18 victory.
The only other game of the day saw the Caldy 4th XV lose to Waterloo 4th XV, with Mark Dean making his final appearance for Caldy at centre and scoring before he heads off for a life in the States with his wife and daughter. The Senior Academy lost 12-5 at Sandbach.
Sunday saw the Caldy Junior Festival with 32 teams from the four age groups Under 13/14/15/16 taking part. Clubs taking part included Sandbach, Chester, Whitchurch and at Under 16s, Houghton-Le-Spring who were on tour from Durham.
