Rugby Union: Fine win by Leigh

LEIGH turned in an excellent display in a re-arranged North Two West clash at home to third placed Broughton Park to triumph 12-7.

It was not so good for West Park Warriors in South Lancashire /Cheshire Four as they crashed 0-72 at Marple.

The majority of local clubs had a league free weekend and it will be the same over the forthcoming Easter period in something of a stop start season.

Wallasey produced a dramatic finale to account for Parkonians 26-23 in the Wirral Floodlit Cup semi-final at New Brighton.

Parkonians looked to be home and dry as they led 23-12 with minutes remaining but Wallasey player-coach Martin Sutton scored two late tries and Paul Lewis swung the balance with both conversions.
