Hoylake set for tricky Vase trip to Sandbach

THERE was precious little action for the lower rated clubs last weekend and it will be a similar situation over the Easter period.

There is no league programme and just a handful of cup engagements including a tough game for Hoylake away to Sandbach on Saturday in the Cheshire Vase semi-final.

Hoylake have been in good form recently but Sandbach are a league above them.

Last Saturday Leigh delivered a surprise result at home to play-off chasing Broughton Park in North Two West, winning 12-7.

It was not so good for West Park Warriors at Marple in South Lancashire/Cheshire Four as they were crushed 72-0.

The league programme resumes on March 29 as the promotion and relegation issues head towards a conclusion. There are three league Saturdays remaining ahead of the play-offs for second-placed clubs.
