New Brighto face wait

NEW BRIGHTON will wait until March 29 to travel to struggling Vale of Lune in North Two West.

They have just one home match left against Broughton Park on April 19 but host the Wirral Floodlit Cup final next month and also the Cheshire v Lancashire county match on May 10.

There will also be action at Hartsfield this evening when Prenton and Capenhurst play in the second Floodlit Cup semi-final for the right to meet Wallasey in the last phase.

The Blues will look back on a season of mixed fortunes. They held high hopes of figuring in the North Two West promotion issue at the start of the campaign but have been disrupted by injuries and seem set to miss out.

Coach Steve Dorrington is still pleased with the progress made in recent months after several years in the doldrums but knows the club will have to recruit further during the close season if they are to make headway towards regaining national status.

There has been a lot of talk recently about how the future will pan out and various reports have been circulating.

But plans to move to a new site on the Wirral do not seem any further forward and there has been no official comment concerning rumours of a possible switch further afield.
