CONFIDENT Chester could clinch the North Two West title this Saturday.
Victory over Sandbach at Hare Lane would leave them at least four points ahead of the nearest rivals Stockport with just two league Saturdays remaining and they have by far the superior points differential. Certainly Chester will step out as clear favourites.
There was an air of gloom when they were relegated last season but it has been well and truly lifted now and a speedy return to North One League is well merited.
Second-placed Stockport have still to visit Hare Lane. The game was scheduled for April 12 but be put back as Chester have a big date at Twickenham in the EDF Intermediate Cup final against Birkenhead Park.
Chester were able to run the rule over their final opponents on Easter Saturday when they lifted the Cheshire Cup and they know they have a battle on their hands.
Chester themselves were glad of an Easter break but will resume with all guns blazing against Sandbach and apart from long term absentees have a full strength squad available.
Coach Rob Foden said: “There is still a job to do and we must remain focused.”
