LSH lose heavily

DESPITE this heavy loss in the North East, Liverpool St Helens still have everything to play for as they battle to avoid relegation.

Penrith’s win over Darlington and Altrincham’s defeat by Hull means no change at the bottom in North One.

LSH struggled throughout. They defended valiantly but once winger Graeme Haswell had breached the line in the 20th minute quickly followed by a drop goal from Sam Rasch the game became a damage-limitation exercise.

Behind 13-0 at half-time and playing up a steep slope the Moss Laners had one eye on the point’s difference column as they put up a typically spirited display with James Cashman and Phil Kearns working tirelessly in defence.

Inevitably the home side surged forward and went further ahead with converted tries from Elliott and Foster before Johan Saaiman added another in the 81st minute.
