Anselmians 22, Vagabonds 18

ANSELMIANS picked up a crucial 22-18 victory over Isle of Man visitors Vagabonds in South Lancashire/ Cheshire One League.

It was not so good for strugglers Aspull and Ruskin Park. Neither could open their account with Aspull finishing 10-0 against play-off chasing Wigan and Ruskin failing 30-0 against in-form Burnage.

Widnes adapted better to the conditions at Wirral to inflict a 16-9 defeat on the Clatterbridge outfit and avenge a home reverse earlier in the campaign.

Hoylake battled bravely at Sale but finished on the wrong side of a 21-10 score.

There is no programme this coming Saturday with the penultimate matches planned for April 12.
