CHESTER, who had hoped to have the weekend free ahead of the EDF Energy Intermediate Cup final, must play a re-arranged game against Stockport.
It is unfortunate for the Hare Lane outfit but at least they are safe in the knowledge the North Two West title is all but won.
But it will be a crunch affair on Saturday with Stockport second in the table with an inferior points tally but favourites for the runners-up spot.
Chester put in another bold showing last weekend to beat Sandbach 24-0 in horrible conditions. Hooker Steve Roberts secured two tries with singles via Liam Lawton and Johnny Beckwith. Tom Foden converted twice.
Head coach Rob Foden said: “It is important we win on Saturday and make absolutely sure of the title. Then we can turn our attentions to Twickenham which I don’t want to talk about at present.”
