IT has again been a season of disappointment for New Brighton but they aim to finish on a high to take fourth in North Two West.
They go to lowly Winnington Park on Saturday and round off at home to third-placed Broughton Park a fortnight later.
Thoughts are already turning to next season at Hartsfield. There is talk of changes and possible finance towards building a stronger squad.
It has been a very difficult period for coach Steve Dorrington with injuries decimating the side. It is certainly not all doom and gloom with 11 wins and two draws from 20 outings.
Certainly there will be big push to try to reclaim a place in North One and eventually a return to the national scene but it will not be easy.
Try-scoring skipper Kati Tuipulotu should be around for some time yet but the Tongan must have better all round support.
Tuipulotu is the club’s leading try scorer with more than double any of his colleagues but regular kicker Stephen Dean leads the points tally.
Back-row man Josh Bates is recovering from an operation after suffering ankle ligament damage in the game at Vale of Lune.
Mike Gallimore, who suffered a broken leg, is back in training.
