ORMSKIRK boosted hopes of finishing runners-up in South Lancashire/Cheshire Two as they edged out close rivals Orrell Anvils 13-12.
It was not good for Sefton, who went down 7-5 at Crewe and Nantwich, where Wayne Osborne crossed.
There were wins for Oldershaw 15-5 against Warrington, Southport 39-0 over Dukinfield and Wallasey 55-0 at the expense of Collegiate.
Tom Cubbin ran in four tries for Wallasey and Paul Lewis a brace.
Ellesmere Port had a vital 14-13 Division Three win over Parkonians. Division Four scores included: West Park Warriors 3 Port Sunlight 29, Capenhurst 1 Marple 21, Linley 21 St Mary’s 14, Helsby 11 Merseyside Police 5.
