Poor start haunts LSH

THE North One results on Saturday confirmed what had been on the cards for some time at Moss Lane, the return to North 2 West.

A battling win at Cleckheaton was not enough to make up for the poor pre-Christmas form which saw just two wins.

Although suffering at times from a lack of strength in depth they have shown huge character and spirit throughout the campaign, none more so than coming from behind to win at Birkenhead Park.

In the final analysis, however, the 18-17 defeat at Darlington and the 8-5 win by the North East side at Moss Lane in February counted heavily against LSH, Darlington eventually surviving.

LSH end the season this Saturday with the rearranged fixture against Hull and director of rugby Paul Woodward is keen to ensure a positive finish.

“We were all disappointed but it is important to finish strongly. The preparation for next season starts here,” he said.
