LSH’s strong finish

LIVERPOOL St Helens departed North One with a bang as they destroyed fifth-placed Hull.

The visitors had no answer to another powerful pack performance, backed up by a lively display from the backs. Registering their fifth win in the second half of the campaign, the Moss Laners are left to rue their poor early season form. They can, however, take great heart from the strong finish.

First-half tries from Ashley Worsfold, Anthony Harden, his first senior score, and a penalty try, all converted by Worsfold, gave LSH a 21-3 lead at half-time.

The home side continued to dominate and although the visitors scored twice the result was never in doubt. Left-winger James Donnelly sprinted over for the fourth try soon followed by tries from Mark Dickinson and Peter van Loo.

Worsfold notched a second before lock forward Alan Chadwick charged over from close range.
