DESPITE the disappointment of relegation there is an unmistakable air of well-being at Moss Lane as LSH prepare for life in NorthTwo West.
“Two years ago when we fell straight through North One we were pretty much devastated,” said president Ray French. “At the time we had little idea of what we were going into and more importantly we were still rebuilding.
“This time, although extremely disappointed, we know what’s in front of us and crucially have the club infrastructure to bounce straight back.”
French is referring to the vibrant club membership, the burgeoning mini and junior sections underpinned by a dynamic community programme and the successful seasons enjoyed by the three other senior sides.
The second XV have finished mid-table in their first sortie into the Bateman Premier League and the third and fourth XVs both finished third in their respective Miller Homes Divisions.
In addition, this season has seen the emergence of a clutch of youngsters from the colts up to senior level, something not possible a few years ago.
Jeff Foulkes collected the young player of the season award at the recent annual dinner and has been joined in the first team by Nick Judd, Joe Gee, Dan Woodward and Anthony Harden. James Cashman won first team player of the year.
