New Brighton’s blues

NEW BRIGHTON will reflect on a season of missed opportunity as high hopes of a top-two finish in North Two West was met with injury problems and disappointing away performances.

It meant they finished fourth some eight points short of a play-off chance. A dozen games were won, two drawn and eight lost and there was a points plus differential of 128.

Stephen Dean finished top points scorer on 129 and skipper Kati Tuipuloto top try-scorer with 19.

Apart from the county game on May 10 there are no matches remaining at any level at Hartsfield.

Brighton have not entered the Caldy Sevens on Sunday but some players will be involved with the Woodchurch Warriors who are taking part.

The Blues will be holding their Annual Marquee events on the front pitch during May.

There is a Sportsmans Dinner set for Wednesday, May 14. The Junior Rugby Prizegiving follows on the Friday.

There is an end of season ball on Saturday, May 17 and the president’s jazz lunch the following day.

Tickets available at the clubhouse.
