BIRKENHEAD Park finished their domestic season with a busy weekend which began with a 38-37 defeat to visiting Percy Park from Northumberland.
Stuart Brown’s conversion attempt to win the match struck both posts before rebounding.
On Sunday, Park won the bowl in the Oswestry 10s competition while there was success for the Park Junior Colts who won the Cheshire Plate defeating host club Sandbach 23-17.
Ben Hughes, Matt McKenna and Jack Ashcroft scored the tries for Birkenhead.
Park player-coach Jon Sewell captained the Cheshire team against Yorkshire in the County Championship match at Macclesfield and will be looking for an improved result at New Brighton this Saturday against Lancashire.
To round proceedings off, the Upper Park hosts the Great Britain Fire Service v Irish Police match on Wednesday, May 14 at 2pm.
