Wirral add Cheshire Cup to Festival glory

WIRRAL under-16s claimed the Cheshire U16s Cup after beating Stockport 12-8.

James Reeve scored two tries which were both converted by Lloyd Hayes to give Wirral a storming start. Stockport hit back strongly to close the gap to 12-5 at half-time.

But Will Flaherty, Harry Broadbent and Lawrence Walters put in a sterling second half display to ensure Wirral stayed in front. It was a nail-biting finish as Stockport kicked a penalty but Wirral hung on to add the Cheshire Cup to their Caldy Festival Cup win.
