CALDY turned in another tip-top performance for a fifth National Three North League success which puts them proudly at the head of the table.
They were only 13-9 to the good at the half-way stage but the result was never really in doubt as they took control in the second period.
Huddersfield in the end had to settle for just three penalties via Andy Johnson as Caldy called the tune with some neat, attacking rugby.
Andy Soutar set up Mark Turner for Caldy’s try in the first period. Gavin Roberts added the extras and also landed a brace of penalties.
Another kick shortly after the break was followed by an excellent individual try from John Broxson which Roberts goaled.
The visitors continued to make life uncomfortable for the Huddersfield defence.
Sustained forward pressure saw Sam Dickinson in for touchdown number three with Roberts converting from wide out.
The last named then added to the Huddersfield misery as he glided through for the last bonus gathering try which was also converted for good measure.
Caldy have every right to feel pleased with their excellent all round display.
They now turn to cup action against Birkenhead Park in the County competition at New Brighton tomorrow evening followed by a trip to Midlands outfit Earlsden in the National Trophy on Saturday.
Chester and New Brighton also play in the Cheshire Cup tomorrow evening at Birkenhead Park.
