Waterloo defeated again as long, tough season ahead beckons

WATERLOO went down to their sixth successive defeat losing 64 -26 away at Southend.

The home side ran in a total of 10 tries, five in each half, to leave the Merseyside club still at the wrong end of the table.

Waterloo were on the back foot right from the start and by the break were 38-14 down. They did cross for two tries, both individual efforts from Matt Groves and Adam Anderson, both converted by Frank Lynch.

The second half followed the same procession with Southend adding a further 26 points. Freeman Payne and Jan Van Deventer crossed for Waterloo to ensure they left with a least a four try bonus point.
