New Brighton handed latest selection dilemma

NEW BRIGHTON gained a memorable victory over North Two West leaders Rochdale in their latest outing and now believe they can make a marked move up the table.
The Blues, without most of their Army contingent, turned on a fine display at Hartsfield for a 32-22 scoreline. They are still third bottom in the table but the gap to the top is now only seven points.
Brighton will not have the chance to build on their new-found confidence this Saturday. There is no league programme and they are out of the National Cup competition which means no game.
Greg Hughes, John Brotherton, Kati Tuipulotu and Gaz Simpson ran in tries against Rochdale and Stephen Dean was on target with a brace of penalties and three conversions.
The Blues need to keep on scoring in the weeks ahead.
They currently have a minus eighteen points differential. Rochdale who remain top are on plus 92.
The next outing is at Rossendale on Saturday week and head coach Steve Dorrington could have a selection dilemma after the Rochdale performance.
Eight clubs will compete for the Wirral Floodlit Cup which is again being hosted by New Brighton in the new year.
Matches will be played on Wednesday evenings with the final set for Friday April 24.
New Brighton will be organising a junior competition to act as a curtain raiser on match nights.
The Floodlit Cup draw with match dates is: January 7: Wallasey v Oldershaw (receive 10pts). January 21: Ellesmere Port v Prenton. February 4: Helsby v Parkonians. February 18: Capenhurst v Port Sunlight. The semi-finals are set for March 4 and March 18.
NEXT GAME: Rossendale v New Brighton, North Two West, Saturday, November 29.
