LSH keep title chase on track

LIVERPOOL ST HELENS produced a businesslike performance at windswept Aspatria to maintain their North One West challenge.
They fought back from a strong home side opening which left them 12-3 behind to lead 16-12 at half time before scoring again early in the second half.
As driving rain swept in off the fells they preserved their lead for a deserved win.
Tries from Stoddart and Tinnion set up the Aspatria lead before LSH hit back with two Greg Smith penalties and a 31st minute try from Jan Lourens.
The prop plunged over from short range after good work from Simon Worsley and Matt Cunliffe.
Intense LSH pressure just before the break and a move along the backs then brought a try from Smith before the impressive centre notched a second with a 40 metre jinking run three minutes into the second half. Thereafter LSH did just what was needed to return with the win.
