Moyes can get challenge at Goodison

MORE stories about Sir Alex Ferguson retiring, more speculation over whether David Moyes has taken Everton as far as he can.

I don’t think either debate is worth having.

Moyes is often subject to this kind of discussion and it’s always perfectly understandable when a manager wants a fresh challenge.

But at Everton he’s got one.

They are likely to miss out on Europe this season, which gives him the incentive over the summer to get his best squad together, all fighting fit and ready to put that right.

Something he didn’t have at the start of this campaign and its cost him.

But two defeats in 22 league games shows he’s up for defying the odds once again and he’s up for a big challenge. And where will he get a bigger one?

Unless he suddenly decided he wanted to manage, say, Valencia or Seville, where would he go?

He knows he has a board who like him – and you don’t give up a nice position like that easily.
