Mark Lawrenson: Lack of fight in Arsenal may bring regrets for Arsene Wenger

HOW bizarre was that at Old Trafford on Sunday?

I was there, and I don’t think I can ever remember a game at that level where one team so clearly gave up as Arsenal did in the second half.

There were a few of their players who barely ran, four or five showed no interest in getting the ball back after losing it, and a couple just didn’t even want to be there.

Liverpool or Everton would not have lost in that manner. They’d have had a plan, and defensively would have been much better. And they definitely wouldn’t have given up.

Back in the summer, Arsene Wenger rejected a move to moneybags Paris St Germain on the principle he had never before broken a contract. I wonder if he regrets that now?
