Mikel Arteta

QUESTION on everyone’s lips?

No, it is not how did Sherlock Holmes fake his own death on Sunday night but more the mystery of where is the Arteta money?

Give most bluenose detectives a magnifying glass and be told you can scour the Everton accounts and I’m sure most would jump at the chance.

So much so chief executive Robert Elstone felt compelled to publish the facts and figures of where the money has gone and how it has been spent on the official website. Okay it was not quite the 115-page document the FA released over the Suarez affair - although it did have a very nice graph.

He has proven he has a keen eye for a goal and has scored one in every six games for United. Amazingly we topped the January transfer spending window until Chelsea finally agreed the deal to sign Gary Cahill.

The other addition to our squad again showed his quality last Saturday with a superb performance at Aston Villa.

Landon Donovan is pure class and produced a stunning pass for the grateful Victor Anichebe to latch onto and score.

I always felt the fact the American is only here until the end of February is like having your stunning girlfriend stay the weekend during a long distance relationship.
