HARRY REDKNAPP should be given the England manager’s job permanently – on a part-time basis.
I can’t see why someone cannot manage the national team on a part-time basis.
I wonder what Fabio Capello did most of the time.
Sure, he watched games. But he can’t watch the opposition because international games are played at the same time.
Redknapp’s the obvious choice for me because of his man-management skills.
And he could do the job while still at Tottenham – the FA could appoint a figurehead to do the publicity and meetings and whatnot, and let Redknapp concentrate on the football.
Capello should have been sacked after the World Cup debacle 18 months ago. The FA put a noose around their own neck by extending Capello’s contract before the tournament.
Any England manager should have a rolling two-year contract from tournament to tournament.
That’s what Germany do, and they aren’t too shabby at international football, are they?
