Mark Lawrenson: Everton look like their old selves again

EVERTON are starting to look like their old selves again.

This has obviously gone hand in hand with the return from injury of some vital players for them.

Add to that the couple of loan signings David Moyes has made and Everton are playing like we always knew they were capable of.

I have been told Philippe Senderos played very well on Saturday at Wigan and Landon Donovan has done extremely well since his arrival from LA Galaxy.

Everyone knew Everton would turn their form around and as well as having good players, they have plenty of lads who will scrap and fight for the cause.

Their return to form is great timing ahead of the derby this weekend where Tim Cahill promises to be another big player for them.

No other Everton player has scored more goals for the club at Anfield and he has an incredible habit of losing markers from set-pieces.

But it will not just be the Australian Liverpool have to be aware of, Marouane Fellaini looks like a proper player and Everton are a much stronger side now their captain has returned.

Phil Neville is such a good professional, on and off the pitch and his presence in the dressing room will be reassuring for many.

Everton are ninth in the table but are seriously looking at getting into the top six or seven.
