THE award for the most ridiculous decision of the week goes to the Confederation of African Football.
The governing body of the African game have banned Togo from appearing at the next two Africa Cup of Nations tournaments after they pulled out of this year’s competition.
Everyone is aware the horrific shooting of the Togolese team bus, which led to the deaths of two people and the grief the incident caused was the reason for their withdrawal.
To ban Togo from the next two Cup of Nations is a ridiculous decision and just leaves CAF open to ridicule and whoever within the federation has made this call, has left themselves open to serious derision.
Emmanuel Adebayor is right in branding the decision “outrageous”.
