Stars on show in Heswall

TRANMERE manager Ronnie Moore plans to put all of Tranmere’s senior professionals on show in the second of the pre-season friendlies at Heswall tonight.

Moore will field a different line up in each half of the game, which kicks off at 7pm.

The annual fixture with the local amateur club from the Wirral also provides Moore with a second chance to look triallist Geert Bakker.

The Dutch midfielder enjoyed a 55-minute run out in Tranmere’s opening summer warm-up game, a 6-0 win at Cammell Laird last Saturday.

Bakker has spent most of his career playing in part-time football in the Dutch third division.

The trial was set up through contacts of Tranmere’s Dutch goalkeeping coach, John Achterberg.
