Shuker pens new three-year deal

WINGER Chris Shuker has committed himself to another three seasons with Tranmere Rovers.

The 25-year-old winger, already under contract until the end of the forthcoming season, signed a deal that will tie him to Prenton Park until 2010.

Manager Ronnie Moore said: “Chris was was an important player for us last season and we are pleased at having him here for another three years.

“He is an exciting winger who can change a game in the second. He is always capable of doing the unexpected and getting the fans out of their seats.”

Shuker said: “I enjoyed last season and I’m happy to sign a new contract.

“The gaffer has made some good signings this summer and hopefully we can be in contention for promotion this season.”

Shuker, from Huyton, was a first-team regular for Rovers last season after moving as a free agent from Barnsley in the summer of 2006.

He made more than 50 senior appearances, scored seven goals and was voted into the PFA League One team of the season.
