LEEDS go into tomorrow’s Coca-Cola League One game at Prenton Park 15 points behind the rest of the division after their punishment was upheld yesterday.
Tranmere’s opening day opponents were hoping to have the points deduction at least reduced at a gathering of all 71 other Football League chairmen but an “overwhelming” majority voted to keep it as it was.
More than 75% of clubs initially agreed Leeds deserved to be punished for failing to meet the Football League’s strict rules on insolvency.
Leeds manager Dennis Wise said: “It’s laughable. Not only have they taken my arms and legs off, now they’ve cut my b***s off as well.
“We have to get 106 points to win the league, 92 points to get in the play-offs and 70 points to stay up. Lovely. Thank you very much.”
