Doubt over Greenacre fitness

STRIKER Chris Greenacre is a doubtful starter for Tranmere’s League One visit to Gillingham tomorrow.

Manager Ronnie Moore gives Greenacre, Rovers’ leading marksman in the past two seasons, less than a 50-50 chance of starting the game at the Priestfield Stadium because of a back injury.

Greenacre picked up the strain in Tranmere’s 1-0 Carling Cup exit at Stockport in midweek.

Winger Chris Shuker is nursing a calf injury, also picked up at Edgeley Park but is given a better chance of making the Gillingham game.

Moore said: “Chris is our most natural goalscorer and he started off with a goal against Leeds in the first game. But he is struggling with his back.

“We will wait and see on the two injuries before I select team.”
