Nixon plans fans’ nights with Rovers greats

ERIC NIXON wants to bring back the Tranmere heroes of yesteryear so they can share their memories with the fans.

The former Rovers keeper and goalkeeping coach has plans to set up nostalgia nights through his latest business venture, Eric Nixon Executive Promotions. Nixon says: “I think it might be a good idea to rekindle some of the magic of those glory days are Prenton Park. I want to set up supporters’ evenings, perhaps with a dinner or hotpot supper, and invite some of the heroes of the 1980s and 90s to share their memories.

“I reckon the likes of Ian Muir, John Morrissey, Dave Higgins, Mark Hughes and John Aldridge would go down a storm. But I want to know what the supporters think. Who would they want to hear from?

“Supporters of Liverpool and Everton often arrange such nostalgia nights, so why shouldn’t Tranmere fans have the chance to enjoy some of their own?”

Nixon will be grateful for suggestions from fans which can be sent to his e-mail address: ericn@ntlworld.com
