Merseysider looking to make comeback against Rovers

CHELTENHAM Town’s Liverpool-born striker Steven Gillespie could make a quickfire return to action against Tranmere Rovers at Whaddon Road tomorrow.

The 22-year-old front man missed Cheltenham’s 2-1 home defeat by Swansea on Tuesday with a hip problem. But a scan showed up no significant injury to hold up Gillespie’s recovery.

Gillespie, an ex-Liverpool scholar, was with Bristol City before joining Cheltenham in 2005.

Meanwhile Tranmere representatives were out distributing flyers amongst the student population of Liverpool yesterday. The message was about cheap prices to watch football at Prenton Park. With students in mind, Tranmere are reducing admission for the game against Crewe at Prenton Park on Tuesday October 2 to just £5 for young people aged between 17 and 22.
