Kirk hopes partnership grows with great Dane

NORTHAMPTON striker Andy Kirk believes his partnership with towering Poul Hubertz is beginning to flourish as they prepare to face Tranmere Rovers tomorrow.

Both front men were on target in the Cobblers’ 3-0 win over Huddersfield last Saturday, with Kirk taking his tally to five league and cup goals this season.

Kirk, an Irish international, feeds off the flicks and touches of Hubertz, a Dane who stands 6ft 5ins tall.

Kirk said: “Paul is a real handful for defenders and hopefully the two of us can continue to work well together.

“We get on well off the pitch and hopefully our understanding on the pitch will keep on improving.”
