Rovers appealing to students with cut-price offer

TRANMERE say their initiative in offering cut-price football to students is winning the support of Merseyside universities.

Rovers have reduced admission prices for 17 to 22-year-olds to just £5 for tonight’s League One encounter with Crewe Alexandra at Prenton Park (kick-off 7.45pm).

Tranmere chief executive Mick Horton said: “We recognise that a lot of young people are keen to come to see live football cannot always afford to do so.

“There are more than 50,000 students on our doorstep and we hope this offer appeals to them.”

Stuart Wade, sports development manager at the Liverpool University said: “This offer makes football cheap and affordable to 17 to 22-year-olds and it is pleasing to see Tranmere making links with the student community.”
