Nixon hosts chance to remember days under King

ERIC NIXON, a goalkeeping stalwart and one of the giant characters of Tranmere’s past and present, is forging new links with the club in the hospitality field.

Under the banner of Eric Nixon Executive Promotions, the former club captain and goalkeeping coach is organising a series of fans forums at Prenton Park – featuring his team-mates from the successful Tranmere teams of the 1990s.

Players such as Ian Muir, Dave Higgins, John Morrissey, Kenny Irons, Ged Brannan and many more will be coming back to Prenton Park to talk about the glory days under former manager Johnny King.

Nixon said: “The intention isn’t to take anything away from today’s team and what they are trying to achieve. These nights will be pure nostalgia, a chance for supporters to share memories with players who gave his club some of the best years of its history.”

The first of the nostalgia nights “Johnny King’s blue and white soldiers” will be an informal fans’ forum and hotpot supper at the Belmont Suite on Thursday, October 25.

Nixon said: “It will take the format of a question-and-answer session, which I will compere.”

Tickets cost £20 and are available at the club shop, The Eric Nixon fitness studio on Prenton Road West or by contact Eric on-line at eric@ericnixon.co.uk

Nixon has also started work as Tranmere’s Mr Hospitality at home games meeting, greeting and chatting to supporters.
