TRANMERE are due to complete the signing of left-winger Kevin Cooper from Cardiff City on a month’s temporary transfer today.
The 32-year-old will be available for tomorrow's game against Huddersfield Town at Prenton Park.
Cooper has made more than 350 career appearances and scored 48 goals since beginning his career at Derby County. He joined Stockport County in 1997 before moving to Wimbledon for £800,000 in 2001. His form at Selhurst Park earned him a £1million transfer to Wolverhampton Wanderers a season later and he then joined Cardiff in 2005.
Tranmere manager Ronnie Moore said: “This is a great signing. Steve Davies is a long-term absentee on the left so Kevin will add balance to the side.
“He is an experienced winger who likes to get the ball into the box and can take on defenders. I’m sure his time here will be beneficial to both the club and to Kevin.
“Cardiff’s manager Dave Jones has helped us out and I’m looking forward to working with Kevin and very pleased he has agreed to join us.”
Cooper will also be eligible for the start of Tranmere’s FA Cup campaign next month.
