Rovers incentive

TRANMERE can prepare for a big Welsh invasion if they overcome Hereford United in the FA Cup.

The winners of the third round replay at Edgar Street next Wednesday face a home tie against Championship club Cardiff City.

Tranmere manager Ronnie Moore said: “We have a big job to do at Hereford but the incentive to get through is there with a home tie in the next round.

“We were hoping for an away tie with the likes of Manchester United or Arsenal but Cardiff will bring a big following to Prenton Park.”

Moore has a personal connection to Cardiff, who beat nonleague Chasetown in round three, having played for the Bluebirds as a striker during the mid-1980s when Lennie Lawrence was manager.
