Tranmere to find out Davies’ compensation in fortnight

TRANMERE will find out in less than fortnight’s time how much compensation they are to receive from Steve Davies’s summer move to Derby County.

A tribunal will decide on the matter in Manchester on Tuesday, August 5 – four days before the Football League season kicks off.

The 20-year-old Liverpool-born left winger joined the Rams last month as a free agent after declining to sign a new contract with Rovers. However Tranmere are entitled to compen-sation because the player is under the age of 24.

Davies made 71 appearances and scored five goals in just under three years for Tranmere after coming through the club’s youth development but spent much of last season recovering from cruciate ligament surgery.
