World Cup Willy - 1966
Lonnie Donegan - king of skiffle, the musical genre that ultimately spawned John Lennon and his first band The Quarrymen - recorded the country's first ever World Cup record for the 1966 finals, hosted in and won by England.
His son Tony has re-released a version of the song for this year's finals (watch here)
Back Home - 1970
The song recorded by the reigning champions before they jetted off to Mexico went straight into the charts at number one and stayed there for three weeks.
The tune was used as a theme tune for the popular BBC fans' programme 'Fantasy Football' in the 1990s.
This Time (We'll Get It Right) - 1982
Having not qualified for the 1974 and 1978 finals in West Germany and Argentina respectively, England returned to the recording studios for the 1982 finals in Spain with a number written Chris Norman and Pete Spencer, who had penned Kevin Keegan's 1970's foray into the world of popular music, "Head Over Heels in Love"
