Serbia coach Radomir Antic unhappy over penalty decision that cost them place in World Cup second round

SERBIA coach Radomir Antic claimed his team were denied a penalty that could have sent them into the World Cup second round.

The Serbs crashed out of the tournament as they were beaten 2-1 by Australia in their final Group D game in Nelspruit.

Marko Pantelic, moments after hauling the eastern Europeans back into the game, blazed a glorious late chance over the bar that would have put them into the last 16.

Antic, however, was more disappointed that Tim Cahill was not penalised when the ball struck his arm in the area in the closing minutes.

Antic, not forgetting his team conceded a penalty against Ghana for handball, said: “The referee had a black day when it comes to Serbia.

“The first time we handled the ball we were punished with a penalty. This time the referees did not want to see what was quite obvious.”
