“Tim has done a really good job for us in the last few weeks,” said the Everton manager.

“He has relished playing up front and maybe that’s the reason he has come back into top form again – he’s enjoying playing with a little bit more freedom.

“It’s giving him the opportunity to attack more and it’s released him from the job he’d had to do before.

“We couldn’t be happier with him. I’d go as far as saying his performances have been the best from a centre-forward that we have had this season.

“His effort has been tremendous.”
