Yossi Benayoun: I don't want to leave Liverpool

"We have some new players and some young players who have come into the squad and we are all working together and all have the same goals.

"The talk about me and my future is only newspaper talk. I'm just concentrating on my work at Liverpool and as long as I am here I will continue to do my best and I believe I have a lot of things to give to this club."

Meanwhile, youth team product Godwin Antwi has been allowed to join Tranmere Rovers on a six-month loan deal while Jack Hobbs has gone on loan to Leicester City.

Yet as two Reds defenders leave Anfield temporarily, another is looking forward to showing the Liverpool fans what he can do.

Having come into the side during pre-season following his £6m move from Udinese, Andrea Dossena is keen to underline his credentials as an attacking full back and insists he has as much to offer going forward as he does in defence.

He said: "Of course, I see myself as a defender but I like to be flexible too. If there is a chance to attack I am very happy to go forward. I am not the type of player who is happy to settle for a 1-0 win.

"I believe in always playing to win and trying to score more goals."

Hobbs has signed for League One outfit Leicester on a season-long loan until May 9.

The former Lincoln City defender enjoyed a loan spell at Scunthorpe last season and is looking forward to his spell with Nigel Pearson's side.

“I am really pleased to have signed and can't wait to get started,” said Hobbs.

“Liverpool have some world-class centre-backs so I spoke to the boss and he said I was free to go out on loan and gain some experience.”
