Researching the horrors of Auschwitz set this photographer on a hunt for his lost family history. Philip Key reports

In the event he took 700 photographs and after meeting Lucy Byrne of the Dot-art gallery and website discussed the idea of an exhibition. She was enthusiastic.
The Holiday Inn on Lime Street also liked the idea and his exhibition Auschwitz - Echoes of Sorrow, cut down to 30 images, will go on display on its first floor from Friday, the day before Holocaust Memorial Day.
The photographs, available as limited edition prints, will also be available on the Dot-art website, www.dot-art.com with 10% of the sales going to help the Auschwitz Museum.
Meanwhile, Guy continues his search to discover if he does indeed have Jewish roots, inspired by the words of the people at the Auschwitz Museum who told him: "Don't give up - keep trying to find your family."
* AUSCHWITZ - Echoes of Sorrow opens at the Holiday Inn, Lime Street, on Friday and continues until February 8.
