Around 40-50 diners can attend and the first £35-a-head event was voted a big success with a wide range of diners, from fellow artists to art lovers and those who just enjoyed a good meal with an unusual background.
The Eat Art dinners will be held bi-monthly on the last Thursday of the month, the next at the Malmaison at the end of May. Liverpool-based artist Gillian Durnan will be talking on that occasion.
That will also help launch the hotel’s new local produce menu, which might mean a slightly cheaper event. A price has yet to be fixed.
“Eat Art is just one of a number of events we are creating to take art around, including an external exhibition at the Liverpool Daily Post and Echo building in Old Hall Street,” she says.
“But the first Eat Art event went down very well. It was a nice, relaxed evening with good food and everyone enjoyed it. There will certainly be many more.”
