Cllr Storey, who was investigated by the Standards Board over the matter, ended up resigning as council leader over the affair.
The latest investi-gation report into the source of information for the blog sites, written in May, 2007, was supplied to Cllr Anderson following a Freedom of Information request from the Labour leader. He circulated the report to councillors at last night’s meeting, before asking: “Would you agree with me that the report and its conc- lusion actually seem to suggest to me very, very strongly that Mike Storey was the person that leaked information to the Evil Cabal web- site. It reaches that con- clusion in that report.”
He went on to call for an independent inquiry into the matter.
Outside the meeting, Cllr Storey said: “I strongly refute any suggestion that I leaked anything to the blog.
“If Cllr Anderson were prepared to say it publicly, outside the confines of the council chamber, I would take legal action against him, as I would anyone who said anything untrue.”
